در ایام تعطیلات نوروز با ماجرای جالبی روبرو شدم. گونیهای سیبزمینی در کنار خیابان و مردمانی که دیگر حلاوتی برای برداشتن سیبزمینی نداشتند. میگفتند: روزهای اول همه سیبزمینی میبردند، اما، حالا دیگر کسی سیبزمینی نمیخواهد. ماجرا خندهدار بود. اما تعجبآور. هیچکس نمیدانست این حجم عظیم از سیبزمینی از کجا میآمد؟ اما همه میدانستند به کجا میرفت. یکی میگفت: ای کاش به جای سیبزمینی، پرتقال میدادند، دیگری میگفت: ای کاش کیوی میدادند. اما، خوب به هر حال نکته مهم این است که به یکباره این همه سیبزمینی از کجا میآید؟ چه کسی تصمیم میگیرد در شب عید که همه به دنبال خرید آجیل و میوه و شیرینی هستند، میان مردم سیبزمینی توزیع کنند؟ گویی مهمترین هدف از این کار تغییر رسوم نوروز و جایگزینی سیب و پرتقال با سیبزمینی است. میگویند: آموزشوپرورش هم سیبزمینی میدهد. ظاهرا از طریق اساماس گفتهاند هر که ماشین دارد بیاید و سیبزمینی ببرد. هرکس هم ماشین ندارد …. یکی میگوید این سیبزمینیها از تبریز آمده، دیگری میگوید روی دست دولت مانده ….. اما ای کاش یکی به صورت شفاف هدف دولت از توزیع سیبزمینی را بیان میکرد

یه روز دست یه پسر بچه مدرسه ای دیدم که یه بسته سیب زمینی بود! ازش پرسیدم اینو چرا تو خریدی؟(آخه زورش نمیرسید و به سختی حمل میکرد)
گفت از طرف مدرسه بهشون دادند!!!!!!!!!
واقعا ماجرا چی بود؟
مدیران چند روز پیش اعلم کردند که برای حمایت از کشاورزانمازاد سیب زمینی رو خریدن. ولی نمی دونن که تو این مواقع نباید سیب زمینی رو وارد چرخهبازار کنن. البته اونا گفتن چون از بین بردن سیب زمینی حیف بود و برای ما هزینه داشت این کارو نکردیم.
ولی بسیار روشن بود که دارن یه جوری توجیح می کنند. به نظر من مدل انتخاب عمومی ارو رو دارن به کار می کیرن. یعنی دنبال ارضا نیاز اکثریت هستند.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The race was by far the most memorable race I have run to date, and very fun in a wierd way. It is nice to know there were plenty of other locals willing to help us out-of-towners find our way around the course. Angus and I several times stopped at intersections while he thought about which way we should go next. At one point he said well just head straight back, I know it will be plenty long enough. Of course, at that point we were 5+ miles from the start.

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

When I started reading it and you described the geographical makeup of the table I was almost sure it was you or the person to your right. When you mentioned the corked wine that iced it. Your picture on the blog did the rest.Parker made two points in addition to the ones youve noted that I found most interesting. First he is beginning to feel that some of the big 05s are so tanic that they may never smooth out satisfactorily. Secondly that if you dont like a wine now you wont like it in 10 or 15 years even if the tanins do smooth out and if you like it now youll still like it later after ageing.Speaking of aging one of your commentators noted that Parker is now 60, the age when the sense of smell and thus tast starts to fade. Im 67 and my favorites were 3,8 and 9 so perhaps Parker and I are fading at a similar pace.I enjoyed our brief exchanges during the tasting, next time youre in Milwaukee drop me a line and we can pull a few bottles out of my cellar.Mike
