برای اینکه به فرهنگ فوتبال انگلستان پی ببریم باید ریشه های تاریخی آن را بیابیم. اگر به تاریخ جزیره بریتانیا دقت کنید می بینید آخرین بار که این خاک مورد تجاوز نیروی خارجی قرار گرفت و تصرف شد قرن ۱۱ میلادی بود که نورمن ها از نورماندی به بریتانیا آمدند و به حکومت انگلوساکسون ها پایان دادند. آخرین بار هم که رفرمی در نظام مشروطه انگلستان انجام شد برمی گردد به قرن هفدهم.انگلستان سال هاست که دچار هیچ جنگ داخلی یا بحران خاصی در نظام سلطنتی – مشروطه اش نشده است و این قضیه باعث پدید آمدن ثباتی بی مانند در این کشور شده است که خود به خود در زندگی و ساختار های اجتماعی مردم هم نفوذ می کند.» بدین ترتیب کم کم مقایسه میان فرهنگ های مختلف فوتبال آغاز می شود و تفاوت های سنت فوتبال انگلستان با فوتبال های دیگری چون ایتالیا و آرژانتین و برزیل رخ می نماید. در این میان جالب ترین نکته یی که مراد فرهادپور به آن اشاره کرد، این بود: «انگلستان اصلاً قانون اساسی مکتوب ندارد و در واقع سنت های شفاهی است که در این کشور رایج است و این هم نشان دهنده همان ثبات اجتماعی است و این خود یک نتیجه مهم دارد: مردم انگلستان هیچ گاه امیال سرکوب شده یی نداشته اند که تبدیل به عقده شود و از پس آن حس ناسیونالیستی و میهن پرستی پدید آید.» دقیقاً به همین دلیل است که تیم ملی انگلستان هیچگاه آن شور و شوق لازم برای فتح تورنمنت های بزرگ جهانی را ندارد. اگر به کشوری چون آرژانتین و به صورت خاص تر برزیل دقت کنیم به روشنی درمی یابیم آنقدر وضعیت اقتصادی و اجتماعی در آنها بحران زده است که فوتبال عملاً برایشان به مثابه بغضی در گلو گیر کرده به حساب می آید که قهرمانی جهان آن را بدل به فریادی می کند که با آن انگار همه عقده هایشان را تخلیه می کنند. بی خود نیست که روزنامه های آرژانتینی پس از گلی که مارادونا با دست به انگلستان زد آن را دست خدا نامیدند. تو گویی این گل انتقامی بود از ملکه و نیروی دریایی اش و همه درد و رنج مردم آرژانتین پس از شکستشان در جزایر فالکلند.
همه این مسائل دست به دست هم می دهد تا آن حس ناسیونالیستی کم رنگ تر و کم رنگ تر شود. در روحیه انگلیسی ها و مسلماً تقابل این بی تفاوتی با فرهنگ هایی چون برزیل که عملاً به جز فوتبال تنها به سواحل زیبای «کابانا» و قهوه خود می نازند نمی تواند شانسی برای پیروزی داشته باشد. اما ماجرا به همین جا هم ختم نمی شود. «قبل از مارگارت تاچر اقتصاد انگلستان چندان شکوفا نبود اما با ورود او به عرصه سیاست بریتانیا آن ساختار طبقاتی که در اوایل قرن بیستم یعنی عهد ملکه ویکتوریا به اوج خودش رسیده بود از بین رفت و عملاً اتحادیه های کارگری قدرت بیشتری پیدا کردند. اما نکته اصلی اینجاست که پیش از این فوتبال در انگلستان اصلاً ورزشی کارگری به حساب می آمد و به هیچ وجه مورد نظر طبقات بالای جامعه و اشراف نبود. لردها و دوک ها و سرها به نوعی کسر شان خود می دانستند که هوادار فوتبال باشند و ترجیح می دادند به اسنوکر و کریکت بپردازند. به همین دلیل شهرهای صنعتی و کارگری چون لیورپول و منچستر صاحب تیم های فوتبال قدرتمندتری شدند و لندن عملاً تنها یک تیم مطرح داشت و آن هم آرسنال بود. البته آرسنال هم به هیچ وجه در حد و اندازه های لیورپول و منچستریونایتد ظاهر نمی شد.»
به همین سبب اکثر کسانی که در آن دوران به ورزشگاه ها می رفتند کارگران معدن بودند یا به هر رو کارگران زمینه های دیگر و همین باعث می شد فوتبال در رده های بالایش به نوعی مهجور بماند. اما همه این معادلات با ظهور تئوری های جهانی سازی و سیاست های نئولیبرال به هم ریخت و عملاً فوتبال مدرن را دیگر نمی توان بدین شکل تحلیل کرد. این دقیقاً همان نکته یی است که خود مراد فرهادپور هم به آن معترف است و می گوید دیگر فوتبال روز تبدیل به صنعتی شده است که از قوانین خاص تجاری خود پیروی می کند.اما آنچه واضح است تاثیری است که هنوز روی بازیکنان انگلیسی باقی مانده و باعث می شود آن شور و هیجان کافی برای بازی های ملی را نداشته باشند. «انگلیسی ها می دانند حتی اگر نبرد را هم ببازند نهایتاً پیروز جنگ هستند.» این جمله کلیدی فرهادپور درباره همان بازیکنانی است که در واقع پیروزی در جام جهانی هم تاثیر چندانی بر زندگی شان نمی گذارد و به همین سبب هیچ انگیزه فرافوتبالی ای برایشان مفهوم ندارد.همین است که انگلستان با این همه ستاره حتی نمی تواند به یورو ۲۰۰۸ راه یابد تا همه اروپا از دیدن بازی این ستارگان محروم بماند.

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
