دولت اوباما سرانجام با طراحی برنامهای بهعلل واقعی سقوط اعتباری اخیر رسیدگی میکند: «داراییهای مسمومِ» بدنام در ترازنامههای بانکی که وحشتی در دل سرمایهگذاران و وامگیرندگان انداختهاند، بازارهای اعتباری سراسر جهان را به تعطیلی کشاندند. اما اگر وزیر خزانهداری، تیموتی گیتنر، امیدوار است که از تکرار چنین بحران اقتصادی جهانیای جلوگیری کند، برنامه نجات او باید این را بهدرستی تشخیص دهد که مشکل واقعی وامهای بد نیست، بلکه مشکل کوچکانگاری کاغذهایی است که آنها چاپ کردهاند.
بحران جهانی امروز- که زیان کاغذی آن طی ۱۵ ماه گذشته بیش از ۵۰ تریلیون دلار در سهام و داراییهای واقعی و کالاها و درآمدهای عملیاتی بوده است- نمیتواند تنها به گردن نکول ناچیز ۷%ی وامهای رهنی کمدرآمدها (احتمالا با ارزشی بیش از ۱ تریلیون دلار) انداخته شود و گفت که آنها این بحران را به راه انداختهاند. تبهکار واقعی نبود اعتماد به کاغذهایی- و همه داراییهای دیگری- است که چاپ شدهاند. اگر ما اعتماد به کاغذها را به حال اول برنگردانیم، نکول بعدی- در خصوص کارتهای اعتباری و وامهای دانشجویی- ماشه فروپاشی اعتماد دیگری را نسبت به کاغذها میچکاند و اقتصاد جهانی را در سهگوشهای گیرمیاندازد.

از زمانیکه انسان شروع به تجارت کرده است، وامدهی و سرمایهگذاری در فراسوی محدودیتهای خانواده و قبیله وجود داشتهاند و ما به صورتحسابهای نوشتهشده معتبر قانونی برای کسب حقایقی درباره ارزش هر چیز وابسته بودهایم. طی ۲۰۰ سال گذشته، آن اقتدار قانونی به یک اجماع قانونی در خصوص دستورعملها و استانداردها و اصول مورد نیازی تطور یافت که حقایق بهشیوهای مستندسازی شود که هرکس بتواند بهآسانی بفهمد و اعتماد کند.
نتیجه یک سیستم دارایی قوی است با قوانین و مکانیسمهایی ثبت شده که براساس کاغذها تثبیت شده است، حقایقی که به ما اجازه نگهداری و انتقال و تبدیل و استفاده از هر چیزی که مالک آن هستیم را میدهد، از سهام تا نمایشنامهها. تنها کاغذهای ارائهکننده یک دارایی که اساسا ثبت نشده و استاندارد نشده و به آسانی ردیابی نشدهاند، مشتقات هستند.
دارایی چیزی بیش از یک توده اصول است. بلکه یک سیستم اطلاعاتی عظیم است که دادههای خام را پردازش میکند تا تبدیل به حقایقی شوند که میتواند برای حقیقت آزمون شوند و بدینوسیله کاتالیستهای اصلی رکود و آشفتگی را نابود کنند- ابهام و ناشفافی. برای تحت حاکمیت قانون درآوردن مشتقات، دولتها باید اطمینان دهند که آنها از شش دستورعمل بلندمدت پیروی میکنند که ارزش و مشروعیت هر نوع کاغذ ارائهدهنده دارایی را تضمین میکند:
- همه اسناد و داراییها و مبادلات که آنها ارائه میکنند یا از آنها مشتق شدهاند باید در دفاتر ثبت عمومیِ دردسترس ثبت شوند. تنها با ثبت و بهروزرسانی مداوم چنین دانش واقعی است که میتوانیم نوع ابزارهای مالی کاملا خلاق قراردادی و مالی را کشف کنیم که ما را به این رکود عمیق فرو میبرد.
- قانون باید «آثارجانبی» همه مبادلات مالی را مطابق با اصل قانونی «برای همه» به حساب بیاورد، که اساسا برای محافظت بخشهای ثالث از پیامدهای منفی مبادلات مرموزی که توسط آریستوکراسیهای غیرپاسخگو در برابر هیچکس جز خودشان انجام میشود، توسعه یافته است.
- هر داد و ستد مالی باید بهطور جدی عملکرد واقعی داراییهایی را که منتشر کرده تحت کنترل داشته باشد. با تراز کردن بدهیها با داراییها، میتوانیم محکهای ساده و قابلدرکی برای کشف سریع این موضوع ایجاد کنیم که آیا یک مبادله مالی برای برای کمک به تولید یا برای شرطبندی روی عملکرد داراییهای پایه صورت گرفته است.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Good thing too because Im planning on heading into Boston to watch the Marathon for the first time (..which is pathetic since Ive lived here all of my 22 years on this earth) but hopefully Ill see some of you runners there!!!

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

i have to agree atleast partially with the writer of this post. while i dont have anything against Danny Boyle and i am sure SM was just his honest attempt at telling a heart warming story, it is true that the west in general does look at India as a land of poverty, much more so than it actually is.I too thought that way too much was being made about SM in India and how it portrays India in a negative light, but after watching the oscars this year, and mostly because of the film that won best documentary, Pinki Smiling i have to agree with the so called cynics. Not only was it by far not the best nominated documentary, but it was also nothing new. it was along the same lines as the documentary made a few years ago about the children of sex workers.once again, i have nothing against Boyle, but the fact is that as a whole unit the western media does tend to portray India in a light of poverty and corruption. it has become a trend like Bhajji bashing in australia or making fun of the Indian accent in Diasporic communities. While, with this as a base we cannot protest against good film makers making well meaning films, like SM, which atleast in my opinion talks about an important matter and holds it up to society in an entertaining manner like a good film should, but we must be wary of this general trend and not let India be marked as a land of slums and slumdogs like it used to be a land of just snake charmers.Just a thought.
