نقدینگی و مدیریت ریسک عنوان مقاله بسیار جالب و خواندنی است که در نشریه آمریکن اکونومیک ریویو منتشر شده است. تعامل میان فعالیتهای مدیریت ریسک و نقدینگی بازار مسئله جالبی است. مدیریت ریسک نقش مهمی در تخصیص سرمایه سرمایهگذاران نهادی ایفا میکند. مثلاً، یک مدیر ریسک ممکن است یک روز میز تجاری را در ۹۹ درصد ارزش در معرض خطر (VaR) به ۱ میلیون دلار محدود کند. به عبارت دیگر این قید بر پرتفوی او اعمال میشود. این بدین معناست که میز تجاری باید موقعیتی شبیه به این را در طول روز انتخاب کند، که ارزش آن به احتمال ۹۹ درصد به کمتر از ۱ میلیون دلار نخواهد رسید. مدیریت ریسک به کنترل استفاده از سرمایه نهاد مالی کمک و درحالیکه ریسک نکول را محدود میکند به کاهش مشکلات آن نهاد کمک میکند. فیلیپ جوریون در ۲۰۰۰ مینویسد که VaR «حالا بهطور فزایندهای برای تخصیص سرمایه در میان تجار، واحدهای تجاری، تولیدات، و حتی برای کل یک نهاد مالی مورد استفاده قرار میگیرد.
این مقاله بر مزایای مدیریت ریسک در یک نهاد مالی با پذیرش چنین کنترلهایی متمرکز نمیشود، بلکه بر آثار کلی چنین فعالیتهایی بر نقدینگی و قیمت داراییها متمرکز میشود. یک نهاد مالی ممکن است از سفتوسختتر کردن مدیریت ریسکاش و محدود نمودن مواضع اوراق بهادارش منفعت کسب کند، اما در نتیجه آن نقدینگی را محدود میکند. این مقاله نشان میدهد که اگر همگان، یک شیوه مدیریت ریسک سفتوسخت را بهکار بگیرند، سپس نقدینگی بازار کاهش خواهد یافت، و لذا یافتن خریدار دشوار میشود. در نتیجه، نه تنها مدیریت ریسک بر نقدینگی اثر میگذارد بلکه نقدینگی هم میتواند فعالیتهای مدیریت ریسک را متأثر سازد.
مدل مقاله: فرض میشود که دو نوع اوراق بهادار وجود دارد: یک اوراق بهادار «نقد» با بازدهی بدون ریسک (مثلا، حساب بازار پول) و دیگری اوراق بهادار دارای ریسک. اقتصاد هم متشکل از طیف افرادی است که ریسک خنثی هستند و دارای یک نرخ ترجیحات زمانی برابر با نرخ بهره بدون ریسک r و سعی میکنند تا ثروت خود را با توجه به آن نگهداری کنند.
همچنین فرض میشود دو نوع مدیریت ریسک نیز در اقتصاد وجود دارد: الف) مدیریت ریسک ساده و ب) مدیریت ریسک تعدیل شده با نقدینگی. با توجه به اینکه کنشگران اقتصادی ریسک خنثی هستند مقاله به دنبال یک تعادل پایدار است که در آن در هر زمان و وضعیتی یک کنشگر اقتصادی یا دارایی نگهداری میکند یا نمیکند. مسئله مقاله هم درواقع بیشتر پیرامون اوراق قرضه دارای ریسک است که کاملا نقد نیستند و صاحب آن تنها وقتی میتواند آن را مبادله کند که طرفحسابی را پیدا کند.
نتیجه اصلی مقاله این است که تجارِ ملزم به استفاده از ارزش در معرض خطر تعدیل شده با نقدینگی LVaR با یک اثر تکاثری افزایش مییابند. مدیریت ریسک سفتوسختتر منجر به مواضع محدودتری میشود، بنابراین در زمانهای فروش، انتظار طولانیتر دالبر ریسک بیشتر بر دوره فروش انتظاری است که مدیریت ریسک را سفتوسختتر میکند و این سیکل ادامه دارد. این بازخورد میان نقدینگی و مدیریت ریسک به توضیح این کمک کند که چرا نقدینگی بهطور ناگهانی کاهش مییابد. این مقاله نشان میدهد که این نقدینگی «گلوله برفی» میتواند افزایش یابد اگر نوسانات افزایش یابد، یا اگر کنشگران با ظرفیت ریسکپذیری کمتری- مثلا، به دلیل زیانها یا ریسکگریزی بیشتر سرمایهگذار- مواجه شوند.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
